Hoi An Night Market

As the sun begins to set, something magical happens on An Hoi Island — Hoi An's Night Market awakens, and the whole neighborhood transforms into a river of light, color, and irresistible aromas. Hoi An's silk lanterns have been handcrafted here for centuries, originally by artisans in nearby villages who supplied the trading port's decorations. Watching a skilled vendor demonstrate how bamboo frames are covered with silk and painted with traditional designs is one of the night market's great pleasures.
